Coach Margin Hooks spent fifteen years developing wide receivers into pros. When we met, the record was there — 26 HS All-Americans, 10+ in the League, 1 All-Pro — but there was no platform to hold it. This is how we turned a portfolio into an operating system.
The record was real. nothing carried it.
Fifteen years of receipts, but no infrastructure to show it. Coaches called about specific athletes because they knew Coach — not because a system introduced them. Every problem below cost real revenue.
No credible online presence
The old site was a placeholder. Parents Googling Coach found nothing that matched what he actually did. Trust eroded before the discovery call even started. Deals slipped through because the digital front door didn't match the coaching credentials behind it.
Portfolio couldn't scale
Every "who do you develop?" answer was verbal. Every "show me the numbers" required a phone call. The 26 HS All-Americans lived in Coach's head. Recruiters and families had no way to browse the roster or self-serve the credibility check.
Business ran through Coach
No membership. No lesson library. No admin CMS. Every athlete relationship depended on Coach's direct time — and that was the ceiling on the business. Growth meant more coaches, but the methodology wasn't systematized to hand off.
Build a platform that holds the record.
Not a website. A system. Every section had to do a job — proof, positioning, product, or conversion. We started with the portfolio and worked outward.
Portfolio-first architecture
Every top-level section leads with a portfolio metric or named athlete. The proof strip in the hero. The Nike Opening callout for the '27s. The advocacy log with recent calls. The full Athlete Database with 25 real athletes and Optimum Grading™ scores.
The site doesn't tell prospects Coach is credible — it shows them the receipts, filtered, sortable, and dated.
Signature methodology, named + positioned
We branded Coach's five-pillar evaluation as Optimum Grading™ and gave it its own visual system. Then we positioned STL as the only WR development platform teaching the position in four dimensions — three of space, one of time — a differentiator no competitor was making.
Methodology + positioning = the moat that makes the tier structure defensible.
Five-tier ladder + honest routing
Free Film Room → $79–149/mo membership → cohort → Prospect Edge evaluation → CBH apex. Every tier has a specific use case, price, and target athlete. The "Where do you fit?" quiz routes visitors to the right entry point — including "we're not the right fit" as a valid answer.
~20% of discovery calls end with a route-away. Featured as a proof point, not hidden.

Tier picker, lesson library, video viewer with paywall gate, community forum, Parent live Q&A landing, account settings, and the Coach admin CMS with a full publish-lesson wizard. Members get a real product. Coach gets a real dashboard.

CFR partnership unlocks new revenue
Optimum Grading™ became the shared standard for the CollegeFootballRecruiting.com partnership. Every onboarded athlete gets a verified CFR profile with Coach's grade — turning evaluation into a distinct product line at the apex tier.
